Polish up on your infection control procedures. This program provides a review of occupational disease and prevention, and offers "cutting edge" information for the entire dental team. It also serves as the annual update training on infection control for all office staff. This course will cover the CDC infection control guidelines, the practical approach to infection control and understand the relationship of hepatitis and other blood borne diseases to dentistry.

The participant will be able to:

  • Evaluate and select infection control products and equipment for the office
  • Manage dental unit water contamination
  • Assess emerging diseases and increased antibiotic resistance in dental infections
  • Reduce skin reactions to gloves
  • Identify ways to prevent the of spread of microbes in the office

John A. Molinari, PhD, is the chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Dentistry. He is a consultant to the CDC in the areas of infectious disease and infection control, and also the infection control section editor for the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry, and reviewer for The Journal of the American Dental Association.
