Hello again, everyone!
Here is an update on some of the things that have been going on that impact Delaware dentists and some of the things that the DSDS has been working on over the past few days.
- Licensure Update: You should have all received an email from DPR last week, indicating that they are allowing online CPR for the licensing period only.
- PPE Donations: We are still collecting PPE at the various sites (see previous emails or DSDS website for drop-off sites). They anticipate needing continued donations over the next several weeks, especially masks, so even if you feel you can only donate 1 box of masks, please do. Every little bit helps.
- N95 Masks: For those of you who have requested N95 masks through the SHOC Resource Request Form, you have likely received correspondence from the Office of Emergency Management (OEMS). Some offices have already received some masks. For questions about your application, call 302-223-1350.
- Town Hall Zoom Webinar: Thank you to everyone that submitted questions last week for our Town Hall webinar. We worked over the weekend to compile responses to your questions. We have put together a PowerPoint to be included in the webinar. We are doing a mock Town Hall webinar with Executive Council members only this afternoon to test out this new platform. We anticipate opening the Town Hall webinar to members this week, so please check your email for Zoom invites.
- Updated Policy Recommendation: We have received many calls and emails regarding an update to our formal recommendation to limit our practices to emergency/urgent care until April 6, 2020. We do not take these recommendations lightly, and we are considering information from the ADA and CDC and are consulting with State Public Health officials this week to help guide us in our recommendation. We anticipate having an updated formal recommendation by mid-week.
- Communication: We have been trying to review all the emails that come our way regarding COVID-19 and disseminate the most useful information and resources to you. We are using multiple communication media, so please check your email, our Facebook page and, especially our website: http://www.delawarestatedentalsociety.org for all the latest information. All the resources related to COVID-19 are available in the General Resources link on the COVID-19 Update section on the homepage. Also, continue to visit http://www.ada.org/virus for other great resources.
As always, we want to do everything we can to help all of our members get through this difficult time. Please continue to email me at cathyharrisdmd@hotmail.com or message me with your questions/concerns, and I will do my best to answer them as quickly as I can.
Sincerely,
Cathy Harris, DMD
DSDS President
