DELAWARE “AGE ONE CONNECT THE DOTS” WORKSHOP
Thursday, January 8, 2015
6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Sheraton Wilmington South, New Castle, DE
“AGE ONE CONNECT THE DOTS”
Background: The Pennsylvania Age One Connect the Dots pilot project supports the current standard of care in AAPD, ADA, and AAP national recommendations. This workshop educates dental providers to do “Knee-to-Knee” examinations, to understand the importance of the “Age One,” or baby dental visit, to see more young children in their practices, to increase their productivity by accepting referrals from physicians who are advising families to take their child to the dentist by “Age One,” and to bill for preventive services to avoid Early Childhood Caries. This Pilot Project, which is now available in Delaware, is supported by a grant from the Dental Trade Foundation (DTAF).
Workshop Learning Objectives:
- Describe the importance of the “Age One” or baby dental visit
- List the risk factors for Early Childhood Caries (ECC)
- Demonstrate a Knee-to-Knee examination
- Describe how the visit, along with anticipatory guidance for parents, is incorporated
into a dental practice. - Describe practical strategies for billing and successful methods to increase productivity when incorporating the baby visit into a dental practice.
Team presentations by General Dentists, Pediatric Dentists and RDH’s with interaction, hands-on demonstrations.
