Job purpose
All level one surgical assistants shall be able to manage and run a schedule to ensure The Christiana Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, P.A. standards of care. Level 1's are responsible for overall patient safety and necessary communications with the surgeon, staff, and supervisor, to keep their office running safely and productively. As a level one, you will ensure that the staff are adequately trained, and able to move from a level three to eventually a level 1. This ensuring meeting The Christiana Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, P.A. high standard of care for its patients. No shows, lateness, poor customer service, bad attitude, and any other unacceptable behaviors, are the responsibility of the Level I to remediate, along with communicating to the clinical coordinator, and practice administrator.


Training
All training tracts for all junior surgical assistants, identified and outlined by the Clinical Care Coordinator, will be the responsibility of all Level I assistants to identify training opportunities throughout the schedule, and connect the selected surgical assistant to procedure that will best enhance their skill sets. The ultimate goal of ALL surgical assistants shall be to become a senior level I assistant. Each assistant shall be achieving marked improvement in acquiring those skills necessary to achieve the above, from month to month and throughout their career at The Christiana Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, P.A ultimately needs to gain surgical assistants who will ALL be senior level I assistants, and that needs to be the goal of every surgical assistant. All surgical assistants will be able to travel to any practice location in support of our patient schedules, and surgeons, as needed and communicated by the Clinical Care Coordinator. The Christiana Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, P.A, strongly supports the privacy, security, administrative requirements established by HHS, as found on www.HHS.gov/ocr/hipaa, to protect patient information, as such, PHI, and EPHI. The "minimum rule", which essentially states that all employees of a covered entity, will only access the minimum amount of protected patient information to provide the medical services associated with the directed care of the patient from the covered entity.
